A second son

 A second little person.  A weighty gift.  James Weston Hinds. 

Our prayer is that this little one will carry the steadfastness of the two men he is called after.  James, my step-dad, who was a steadfast presence in my life.  Through many trials and many whirling seasons, James was a constant support, a constant presence, a constant reminder of truth and grace.  He loved me as his own and served me as a stable presence.  He taught me what the unchanging love of a father looked like and shaped my understanding of the heavenly Father.  James, may you grow into a steadfast pillar for those in your life, always inviting others into faith and trust.

Weston, a friend we have watched for years and years steadfastly turn his life over to Christ.  We have watched this friend through many a trial persevere in laying himself down at the cross, and we know very few people who are so steadfast in hope, even when hope feels far. Weston, may you be steadfast in hope through all the trials of your life.
